These works on paper utilize layered processes with local color, schematic armatures and overlapping areas of containment or confinement. Influenced by seeing sections of historical homes in New Orleans being shored-up and elevated, in addition to other architectural projects in progress. This grouping explores various states of this process, without displaying the final outcomes of the projects. Working through this approach allows multiple sections and layers to inform the overall scene, without a clear, structured narrative. The plan is to continue in this direction, developing a more cohesive visual language, which may integrate the various approaches into a singular, possibly larger work.
